NURS 318 - Nursing Fundamentals and Population Health: Practicum (3 units) Explore the philosophy, concepts and principles of individual and population health. Use fundamental nursing skills, clinical judgment and display professionalism in providing nursing care.

Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Nursing major; Departmental permission.
Grading Basis: Graded Units of Internship/Practicum: 3 Offered: Every Fall and Spring
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. use fundamental nursing skills needed to provide safe care. 2. analyze data from various sources to support safe and appropriate nursing plans of care. 3. demonstrate therapeutic communication to establish and maintain relationships with clients and populations. 4. develop plans of care using evidence-based interventions that promote social justice and optimizes the health of populations. 5. recognize ethical, legal and moral principles and standards that can shape caring for diverse populations. 6. reflect on professional behaviors and interactions in the interprofessional environment to improve care outcomes.
