NURS 434 - Nursing Care of the Individual II: Practicum (2 units) Provide advanced nursing care for multiple adult individuals using nursing skills, clinical reasoning and displaying professionalism.

Prerequisite(s): Admission to Nursing major and departmental permission
Grading Basis: Graded Units of Internship/Practicum: 2 Offered: Every Fall and Summer
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. perform individualized client assessments to develop plans of care. 2. use nursing skills needed to provide safe care to adult individuals. 3. synthesize client data and presentation to prioritize client care needs. 4. implement individualized plans to provide safe care. 5. revise plans of care based on evaluation of client responses to optimize client outcomes. 6. describe clinical manifestations of prioritized potential complications to anticipate interventions. 7. collaborate with the interprofessional team pertinent to the clients’ plan of care to promote positive health outcomes. 8. demonstrate professional nursing practice to provide individualized nursing care. 9. demonstrate growth through reflection on professional behaviors and interactions in the interprofessional environment. 10. communicate care provided in verbal and written forms to inform client status.
