- Students who graduate from a Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) community college with an Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, or an Associate of Business degree automatically fulfill lower-division general education requirements (CO1-8) at the University unless specific general education courses are required for completion of the student’s major program.

To ensure a successful transition to the University and graduation in four years, students must work with academic advisors at UNR and WNC throughout their career.
Students may earn an Associate of Arts, Associate of Science or Associate of Business degree after transferring to the University via reverse transfer . Talk with an academic advisor at WNC and/or UNR about this opportunity.
The Silver State Transfer program may provide the least costly route to a bachelors degree, including personalized academic advising from both institutions, certainty on how your specific courses will transfer and the exchange of transcripts between institutions at no additional cost to you.
Recommended Schedule
For information about the Core Objectives (CO) 1-14, please visit the Core Curriculum chapter in the catalog.
Substitution Notes – Please speak to WNC and UNR academic advisors for further information:
- One unit of THTR 176 (Musical Theatre Workshop I) or THTR 276 (Musical Theatre Workshop II) taken at WNC may substitute for UNR’s THTR 208A or 208B requirement. Students exercising this option are advised to rearrange coursework appropriately to ensure they meet course sequencing.
- WNC students may substitute MUS 111 (Piano Class I) and MUS 112 (Piano Class II) for UNR’s MUS 109 and MUS 110, respectively. MUS 111 & 112 are three units, whereas MUS 109 & 110 are only one unit. Students are advised that exercising this substitution will cause them to exceed the 60 units required for the AA degree and the 120 units required to earn the Musical Theatre BA, and that this may have an effect on course sequencing.
