Students majoring in any field may minor in anthropology by completing at least 18 units in one of three areas of study: archaeology, biological anthropology, or cultural and linguistic anthropology.
Archaeologists delve into the complexities of human history by examining physical remnants of past civilizations. Students in the archaeology minor will learn how these professionals piece together a comprehensive understanding of human activities, societal structures and cultural evolution using portable artifacts like pottery, stone tools, and animal remains to environmental samples such as plant remains and soil layers.

I. Program Requirements for Non-Majors (18-19 units)
Students majoring in another field may minor in Archaeology by completing the requirements in this section.
- Minor GPA | 2.0
- Minor Upper-Division Units | 9
- Minor Residency Requirement | 6 Upper-Division Units in the minor at UNR
- Unit Limits: Per College of Liberal Arts policy, no more than 9 units counted toward any major may be reused to meet the requirements of this minor.

Complete both of the following:

Choose one of the following introductory courses in another field of anthropology (students choosing ANTH 102 must also complete ANTH 110L):

Complete at least 9 units from the following:

Students majoring in Anthropology may minor in Archaeology by completing the requirements in this section.
- Minor GPA | 2.0

- Minor Residency Requirement | 6 Upper-Division Units in the minor at UNR
- Unit Limits:
- Per College of Liberal Arts policy, no more than 9 units counted toward any major may be reused to meet the requirements of this minor.
- Additional Limit: Coursework used to satisfy Anthropology major requirements may not be reused to meet the requirements of this minor.
Note: Anthropology majors pursuing this minor should regularly consult with an academic advisor to ensure ANTH courses taken are optimally distributed between major and minor requirements on their advising report in MyNevada.
