The Department of Art, Art History & Design offers many areas of emphasis for students, including art history, art studio, book and publication arts, ceramics, digital media, graphic arts, painting and drawing, photography and videography, printmaking and sculpture. Students may work in a specific area of specialization or explore a range of practices in a variety of media.

I. Program Requirements (21 units)
Students majoring in another field may minor in Art History by completing the following requirements:
- Minor GPA| 2. 0
- Minor Upper-Division Units| 9
- Minor Residency Requirement| 6 Upper-Division Units in the minor at UNR
- Unit Limits:
- Per College of Liberal Arts policy, no more than 9 units counted toward any major may be reused to meet the requirements of this minor.
- Studio Art majors may use only ART 100 and one other studio art course (listed above) to complete this minor. Studio art majors may not use required Art History courses (ART 260 , ART 261 ) to complete this minor. Therefore, Studio Art Majors will require five additional Art History courses not taken for the major to complete the Art History minor.
