Criminal Justice, Minor

The minor program in criminal justice allows students to explore central issues related to crime, law, and the criminal justice system, with a particular emphasis on policing, courts, and corrections. The minor will provide an understanding of the nature of crime and the systematic responses to criminal behavior.

Program Requirements (18 units)
Students majoring in another field may minor in Criminal Justice by completing the following requirements:
- Minor GPA | 2.0
- Minor Upper-Division Units | 9
- Minor Residency Requirement | 6 Upper-Division Units in the minor at UNR
- Unit Limits: Per College of Liberal Arts policy, no more than 9 units counted toward any major may be reused to meet the requirements of this minor.

B. Criminal Justice Electives (15 units)
Criminal Justice minors must also take five additional three-unit courses as electives. At least 9 of these 15 elective units must be upper-division.
Any CRJ course numbered 100-499 not used above may be used as an elective. Refer to the Course Descriptions chapter of this catalog for a full list of CRJ courses.
