Anthropology (Cultural and Linguistic Anthropology), Minor

Students majoring in any field may minor in anthropology by completing at least 18 units in one of three areas of study: archaeology, biological anthropology, or cultural and linguistic anthropology.

The cultural and linguistic anthropology minor examines the variety of human cultures and societies, the diversity of the world’s languages, and the process by which people construct local, regional and global forms of social relationships. Students pursuing this minor will learn how people develop particular social identities and worldviews, use language and other forms of communication in social life, and how people create forms of community in a changing, globalizing world.
