Students majoring in any field may minor in anthropology by completing at least 18 units in one of three areas of study: archaeology, biological anthropology, or cultural and linguistic anthropology.
The cultural and linguistic anthropology minor examines the variety of human cultures and societies, the diversity of the world’s languages, and the process by which people construct local, regional and global forms of social relationships. Students pursuing this minor will learn how people develop particular social identities and worldviews, use language and other forms of communication in social life, and how people create forms of community in a changing, globalizing world.

I. Program Requirements for Non-Majors (18 units)
Students majoring in another field may minor in Cultural and Linguistic Anthropology by completing the requirements in this section.
- Minor GPA | 2.0
- Minor Upper-Division Units | 9
- Minor Residency Requirement | 6 Upper-Division Units in the minor at UNR
- Unit Limits: Per College of Liberal Arts policy, no more than 9 units counted toward any major may be reused to meet the requirements of this minor.

Students majoring in Anthropology may minor in Cultural and Linguistic Anthropology by completing the requirements in this section.

- Unit Limits:
- Per College of Liberal Arts policy, no more than 9 units counted toward any major may be reused to meet the requirements of this minor.
- Additional Limit: Coursework used to satisfy Anthropology major requirements may not be reused to meet the requirements of this minor.
Note: Anthropology majors pursuing this minor should regularly consult with an academic advisor to ensure ANTH courses taken are optimally distributed between major and minor requirements on their advising report in MyNevada.
