For students with majors in another field, The School of Music offers two Music Minor tracks. Both tracks emphasize the development of an appreciation for different music genres, knowledge of music theory, exposure to the history of music, and applied experience in ensemble playing.

I. Program Requirements (21 units)
This minor is not open to students pursuing any music major. Students with majors in another field may minor in music industry by completing the following: - Minor GPA| 2. 0
- Minor Upper-Division Units| 9
- Minor Residency Requirement| 6 Upper-Division Units in the minor at UNR
- Unit Limits: Per College of Liberal Arts policy, no more than 9 units counted toward any major may be reused to meet the requirements of this minor.
A. Core Courses (18 units)
Music Internship (3 units)
B. Ensembles (2 units)
Complete 2 units from the following: C. Elective in a music course numbered 300 - 499 (1 unit)
Complete at least 1 additional unit in upper-division music courses as an elective. Any MUS, MUSA or MUSE course numbered 300-499 not counted toward the requirements above may be used in the elective requirement. Refer to the Course Descriptions chapter of this catalog for eligible courses. |
