The School of Public Health offers this generalist masters in Kinesiology. Students may choose an emphasis in: athletic training, biomechanics, exercise physiology, or physical activity.

Program Learning Outcomes
Students will be able to: - design programs to promote exercise and physical activity to improve health, fitness, performance and quality of life for all people of all ages.
- measure and evaluate physical activity from a public health perspective.
- evaluate and refine foundations of movement, fitness, and performance.
- create and evaluate the practice of movement and physical activity.
Admission Requirements
Entrance requirements are: - 3.0 cumulative GPA,
- statement of purpose, and
- current curriculum.
The Graduate Record Exam (GRE) is recommended and is not required for applicants who have already obtained a Ph.D., M.D., D.D.S., Dr.P.H., or master’s degree from institutions approved by the School of Public Health or the UNR Graduate School. Students who have a current (<5 years) GMAT or MCAT may submit their scores as well. In addition, an undergraduate course in biostatitics or statistics is required. Students who do not have an undergraduate degree from an accredited public health program must take the Basics of Public Health course (offered online by the School of Public Health, 0 credits) before starting the program. If KIN 466 Methods of Teaching Adaptive Physical Education was taken at the undergraduate level KIN 666 Methods of Teaching Adaptive Physical Education is not required. C. Thesis Option (6 units)
D. Professional Paper Option (6 units)
