Instructional Design and Technology, Graduate Certificate (Online)


This is an online program

This graduate certificate in instructional design and technology supports the needs of professionals with fundamental knowledge and skills in instructional design and technology in schools, universities, and industry companies. This online graduate certificate program has a high degree of efficacy to serve for the needs in a wider range (state-wide, regional, or national).

Note: Students who are enrolled in this program solely are not eligible for Federal Financial Aid.

Program Learning Outcomes


Students will be able to:

  • discuss and evaluate the current trends, needs, applications, and diversity issues in the field of instructional technology and learning design.
  • apply instructional design theories to design, develop, and implement digital instructions for any educational and training settings.
  • conduct basic evaluation and assessment in instructional technology based applications and instruction.
  • master and utilize up-coming new technology tools, and continue updating instructional design knowledge and skills with new technologies for further work.

Admission Requirements


Candidates for this certificate must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited academic institution. The courses offered for this certificate may be taken by current students or new students. A student must first apply to the certificate program and be admitted to be eligible to receive the certificate.

I. Program Requirements


This graduate certificate in instructional design and technology supports the needs of professionals with knowledge and skills in instructional design and technology as well as online instruction in schools, universities, and industry companies. Through five courses, students learn to effectively integrate technology into different learning contexts that meet the needs of all learners.

II. Total Units (15 units)


NOTE:
Students who are enrolled in or have completed the certificate program may choose to continue their graduate studies and apply to a master program of Instructional Technology & Learning Design or a doctoral program of Information Technology in Education. Students accepted to a graduate program in one of two programs may reuse 15 credits completed for the Graduate Certificate in the two graduate programs.
