Students who complete the Nevada Teach Secondary Education, Neuroscience program will earn a dual degree: the Bachelor of Science in Education/Secondary Education and the Bachelor of Science with a major in Neuroscience. This program provides students with a strong background in science, particularly biology, and includes all of the coursework required to apply for certification to teach biology at the secondary level (grades 7 -12) in the State of Nevada. Graduates of this program will be prepared to: (a) pursue an immediate career in the field of Neuroscience; (b) enter a graduate program; or (c) teach biology at the middle or high school level bringing quality science instruction to secondary students meeting the need of a developing pipeline of highly qualified science teachers in our region, state, and nation.
