Circulatory, immune, respiratory, endocrine, digestive, urinary and reproductive systems physiology. Primarily for pre-professional students pursuing careers in medicine, dentistry, and other professional degree programs. This course may be used for credit towards the major in Biology.

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. describe the underlying physiological function of the cardiovascular, respiratory, immune, endocrine, digestive, urinary, and reproductive systems of the human body.
2. connect the significance of the autonomic nervous system and hormones in maintaining homeostasis with each of the above-mentioned systems.
3. evaluate the molecular and cellular basis of fluid and gas transport.
4. consider the function of valves, bioelectricity, and pressure in blood flow through the heart and blood vessels.
5. explain the molecular and cellular basis of innate and adaptive components of the immune response.
6. evaluate the molecular and cellular basis of pulmonary ventilation and internal respiration.
7. consider the molecular and cellular basis of hormones and negative feedback.
8. assess the digestive process and molecular basis of nutrient breakdown and absorption.
9. apply homeostatic principles to describing the role of the kidney in maintaining fluid and solute balance.
10. contrast the molecular and cellular function of male and female reproduction and hormonal control.
11. develop/create critical thinking skills in order to be able to think like a physiologist, and solve physiologically-relevant problems.
