IMSE 410 - Operations Planning and Control

(3 units)
Application of industrial engineering theory and practice to the area of operations management and production planning/control. Analysis and understanding of forecasting, aggregate planning, operations strategy, capacity planning, supply-chain management, just-in-time systems, lean manufacturing, agile manufacturing, materials requirement planning, inventory management, short-term scheduling and sequencing, line balancing and other
pertinent topics.

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics.
2. apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors.
3. develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions.
