THTR 402 - Scenic Design II (3 units) CO14 This course is designed to further develop the skills learned in THTR 202. This course will develop the artistic and practical aspects of designing scenery for the stage. Emphasis will be placed on the design process, and will include topics on script interpretation, rendering and modelling techniques (including digital techniques), budgeting, time management, and design presentation, both in person and digital.

Prerequisite(s): THTR 202
Grading Basis: Graded Units of Lecture: 2 Units of Laboratory/Studio: 1 Offered: Every Fall - Even Years
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. create designs for a variety of live entertainments. 2. conceive and research design projects. 3. translate their conceptual works into practical applications. 4. communicate their ideas through renderings, models and other forms of graphic communication. 5. collaborate and communicate with artisans who realize design work in a professional venue. 6. present their preliminary and finished work in a clear, professional manner.
