ANTH 425 - Anthropology of Europe (3 units) CO11 This course examines the history and cultures of the peoples of Europe from an anthropological perspective, examining minority communities and different ethnic groups, their identity, migrations and engagement with mainstream society.
Prerequisite(s): CH 201 or CH 202 or CH 203 or CH 212 .
Grading Basis: Graded Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Fall - Odd Years
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. read and critically evaluate relevant literature in the anthropology of Europe, orally and in writing. 2. articulate and evaluate connections among local, national, and international contexts including between regions within Europe, the European Union, and Europe’s connections to the world, orally and in writing. 3. contextualize current events and experiences in relation to historical and current global contexts, orally and in writing.
