ENG 100L - Critical Reading & Integrated Writing Labs (2 units) These labs provide hands-on, small group, collaborative lessons to develop more confidence and competence with critical reading and integrated writing strategies. These labs emphasize practice with critical skills applicable across the disciplines.
ENG 100L supports students learning in combination with ENG 100I as part of the corequisite model. Students in the English corequisite model must successfully complete ENG 100L (2 credits; graded as S/U) and ENG 100I (3 credits) to matriculate to ENG 102 .

Corequisite(s): ENG 100I . Must enroll in ENG 100L prior to enrolling in ENG 100I .
Grading Basis: Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory Units of Laboratory/Studio: 2 Offered: Every Fall and Spring
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. engage in collaborative activities to enhance their reading, writing, communication, and critical thinking skills. 2. explore how rhetorical situations (e.g. audience, speaker, purpose, subject, context, constraints, genre, language use) influence readers and writers. 3. recognize and practice a variety of reading strategies to comprehend, analyze, and interpret a wide range of texts. 4. summarize and practice flexible writing strategies to draft, review, revise, rewrite, and edit. 5. engage in reflective practices and utilize feedback from peers and instructors to refine and develop their reading and writing skills.
