Bachelor of Science in Engineering/Masters in Business Administration

I. Brief Description


The College of Engineering in partnership with the College of Business will offer a five year program to earn both the Bachelor of Science in Engineering and Master in Business Administration degrees.

II. Admission Requirements


Applicant Criteria


Applicants must be

  • Enrolled in a College of Engineering degree program
  • Minimum GPA of 3.20 cumulative
  • Junior level academic standing
  • Minimum GMAT score required is 500; alternatively, the average score for GRE verbal plus GRE quantitative is 150.

Application Procedure


Applicants may apply in their junior year. Application deadlines will be March 15 for the following fall term admission and October 15 for the following spring term admission. Applicants will follow the same procedure for applying for the MBA including transcripts, exam scores, two letters of recommendation, personal statement, and current resume as regular MBA program applicants. The required professional work experience will be waived.

III. Program Requirements


Required Course Work for Accepted Students


Undergraduate Curriculum (equivalent to core for the MBA program and in addition to required courses for engineering degree):

The MBA curriculum beyond core courses requires 6 breadth courses (BADM 750 , BADM 772  are required), 3 electives, and required capstone (integration) course, BADM 781  as stated on the MBA Program’s website: www.mba.unr.edu

Program Details


The program allows participating undergraduate engineering students access to MBA prerequisite courses. Applicants to the program must maintain satisfactory academic progress (SAP). SAP includes receiving at least a B in each business course and maintaining an overall GPA of at least 3.2. The students may take up to 6 credits of graduate level courses (600 and 700 level) towards the MBA degree if the undergraduate business curriculum is complete. The student and advisor must submit the request form (http://www.unr.edu/Documents/graduate-school/exception-to-policy-template12.pdf) to take graduate credits as an undergraduate.
