The Bachelor of Arts in Economics is designed to prepare students for positions as economic and statistical analysts in business, government and nonprofit organizations, and for the teaching profession. In addition, it provides a strong foundation for graduate study and research in the fields of economics, business, public policy and law. C. Foreign Language (0-14 units)
Successful completion of the foreign language requirement may be accomplished through one of three options:
- complete a fourth semester college course in a foreign language or in American Sign Language;
- demonstrate proficiency through placement examination or other means determined by the Department of World Languages and Literatures, including minimum CBAPE, SAT II, or IB scores; or
- participate in a Studies Abroad program pre-approved by the Department of World Languages and Literatures to meet the foreign language requirement.
IV. Major Requirements (27 units)
At least 9 units in the Economics major must be taken at the 400 level. A. Required economics courses (18 units)
